There has been huge progress in the development of electric vehicles and we are at a point now where electric cars are a feasible alternative to petrol and diesel. The variety of electric vehicles already launched or expected to be launched soon is huge (top speeds vary from 24mph to 208mph!) and I wanted to find a way to compare what’s on offer. And so, without further ado, I give you my Electric Car Top Trumps, 44 electric vehicles and their key statistics such as speed, range, charge time and price.
I’ve tried to avoid hybrids and concentrate on pure electrics – to keep the selection manageable but more because pure electrics can, in theory, be entirely run on renewable energy. The data has been taken, where possible, from the manufacturers’ websites and where not, from articles and reviews. The data is as accurate as I could get but if you spot anything amiss or have data to contribute then please leave a comment.
Electric cars are a hot topic at the moment and a fascinating one so you can expect more posts that look into the deeper issues. In the meantime happy (top) trumping!
